The Play-a-Game Interface

Here is the screen I use to play a game. The game moves batter by batter. When I click the “Pitch” button, it results in the batter either getting a hit or an out. Sometimes it results in a wild pitch, passed ball, or hit batsman.

In the example below, Lowell was the first batter for Leningrad in the first inning. He hit a single, “1b.” Bukowski batted next and hit into a double play, “DP2,” to make the first and second outs. Tan batted next and grounded out for the third out, “g3.” A fly out appears as an “f” and the number of outs in the inning. A fly out for the second out in the inning would appear as “f2.”

You can also see fielder's choice plays, "FC2" for Baraka of Leningrad. A strike out appears as a "k" followed by the number of outs in the inning. Doubles, triples, and homers appear as "2b," "3b," and "HR," respectively.
